ProductsGlycoMar’s primary focus is in the discovery and development of sugar-related compounds (polysaccharides and glycosaminoglycans) derived from a wide range of marine invertebrates and microalgae, providing an array of novel biochemistry. These products have pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmeceutical, and research applications. In particular we are focusing on the use of glycomolecules for the treatment of inflammatory disorders, being developed in partnership with the pharmaceutical industry. |
ServicesGlycoMar offers bespoke research services in the areas of cell-based screening for anti-inflammatory drug discovery and biochemical characterisation of glycobiology products. Our screening services offer a cost effective range of human blood cell-based assays for measuring the anti-inflammatory or pro-inflammatory activity of customer’s compounds, utilising end-points such as: blood cell proliferation, elastase release, cytokine analysis, cell migration and oxidative stress. |
